A Like-Minded Community
Upon enrolling, you will join a distinguished community of learners who challenge and support each other academically and personally. This includes fellow honors students, faculty, and advisors, all of whom are held to the same high standard of personal and intellectual excellence.
Small Cohorts
As a student, you will be placed into a select group of 10 to 12 academically able and motivated peers. These groups give you a chance to interact with one another in a more intimate format, serving as a built-in peer support network over the course of the program.

Hands-On Personal Advising
Ivy Tech Honors Advisors take an active interest in the academic and personal wellbeing of each student from day 1. In addition to helping you choose classes, explore four-year colleges, and complete transfer applications, your advisor will help you pursue scholarships and financial aid opportunities. You will get the support you need throughout your time in our program, and beyond.
In many traditional college programs, students can’t always get the courses they need due to limited space. American Honors Ivy Tech advisors will work with you to ensure you are able to register for the appropriate courses—when you need them.

Honors Lounge
The Honors Lounge is a space on Ivy Tech’s campus reserved exclusively for American Honors students. A nexus of social activity, it is a place to meet up, form study groups, or just hang out!
Social Events
Over the course of the program, you will have opportunities to attend many special group events like baseball games and concerts, as well as self-organized social activities (e.g., student clubs, Poetry Jams, etc.). You will also have access to the full range of activities and events that take place through Ivy Tech.
Beyond the Classroom
We believe that true academic growth is fostered both within and outside the classroom. Opportunities provided by American Honors at Ivy Tech include service learning, internships, near-peer mentoring, off-site trips, and many other extracurricular activities to empower you and enhance your experience.
